Ridge Lines

by Josie Rodgers

This week marks 11 years since my sister was taken from us. We miss her every day. Sometimes it feels like forever since I’ve seen her, and other times it feels like yesterday. Even after all these years, I still find myself wanting to call her or text her with a question. The best way to ease our pain is to talk about her…all the time! We are always talking about our memories and the funny things she used to do as well as the kindness and love she showed absolutely everyone. To keep her alive, we also try to emulate her love for others. To ease the hole she left, we talk about the future. We know that we will see her again. We know she is in Heaven with Leagrace, our dad, and her stepson who passed away a few months ago. She’s singing in the choir, dancing with LG, catching up with her son, and talking Gamecock football with our dad. On that note…the Gamecocks could use some heavenly assistance!
