Finishes Third In World Series

Saluda’s S.C. state champion 10u Angels softball team finished third in the Dixie Softball World Series, played in Moncks Corner. The local team just missed out playing for the championship, when they fell to host Moncks Corner, 4-3, in nine innings. Minors Win  World Series Games

Saluda’s S.C. state runner-up Minor League All-star team became the second Saluda youth team in history to win a World Series game, when they defeated Mississippi 14-0 in the opening round of the Dixie Boys  World Series in Laurel, Miss, Fri., July 30.  They then won their second game, 6-3 over North Carolina the next day.  Sunday, Saluda fell to Florida 2-0, setting up a meeting with the S.C. state champion on Monday afternoon in which Saluda defeated Lower Florence 11-2 to advance. County One Of Two Moderate Counties

Saluda and Bamberg were the only two counties in the state reporting “moderate” COVID activity last week. All other counties were “substantial” or “high.”
