GIRLS VARSITY SOFTBALL
  Saluda High School Varsity Softball beat Strom Thurmond High School 1-0 Tuesday, March 5.
 The Saluda Softball Team opened up the season with a tough 1-0 victory at Strom Thurmond Tuesday night. Backed by an impressive defense, Kaylee Long pitched the shut out. Carmen Doubrava had two hits and scored the games lone run on an RBI by Gracie Burgess.    Saluda High School Varsity Softball falls to Ninety Six High School 10-0 Thursday, March 14 Saluda High School Varsity Softball beat Lee Central High School 21-0 Saturday, March 16.   Saluda High School Varsity Softball beat North Central High School 13-3 Saturday, March 16.inging of the Alma Mater.

  Saluda High School Varsity Baseball fell to Emerald High School 4-1, Saturday, March 2.
  Saturday’s game against Emerald Vikings was a heartbreaker for Saluda Tigers, as they lost the lead late in a 4-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with Emerald Vikings batting in the bottom of the sixth when.Lollis was on the pitcher’s mound for Emerald Vikings. He surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one.Noah Bell toed the rubber for Saluda Tigers. He allowed five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out 11. Matt Herlong threw one inning in relief.TJ Fallaw led Saluda Tigers with two hits in three at bats.Burton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Emerald Vikings in hits. Emerald Vikings was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Deloach made the most plays with 11.
   Saluda High School Varsity Baseball beat Newberry High School 14-4 Tuesday, March 5.
  Saluda Tigers weathered a scare by Newberry Bulldogs in the third inning where Saluda Tigers (Varsity) coughed up three runs, but Saluda Tigers still won 14-4 on Thursday. Newberry Bulldogs’s big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Q Toland and R Summer.Saluda Tigers got things started in the first inning when Cade Gentry doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.Saluda Tigers scored six runs in the sixth inning. Saluda Tigers put the pressure on, lead by singles by Gentry and Noah Bell and a walk by Joe Ordile.Gentry led things off on the mound for Saluda Tigers. He allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six and walking zero.R Redd was on the pitcher’s mound for Newberry Bulldogs. He allowed three hits and four runs over one inning, striking out three. B Inman and T Young entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and two innings respectively.Saluda Tigers racked up ten hits in the game. Gentry, Jacob McCary, Bell, and TJ Fallaw each collected multiple hits for Saluda Tigers. Gentry led Saluda Tigers with three hits in three at bats. Saluda Tigers stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Fallaw led the way with two.
  Saluda High School Varsity Baseball falls to Strom Thurmond High School 8-0 Wednesday, March 13. Saluda Tigers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-0 loss to Strom Thurmond Rebels on Wednesday. Strom Thurmond Rebels scored on a sacrifice fly by C Jones in the first inning, a double by J Childress in the first inning, a single by D Williams in the second inning, a stolen base by Williams in the second inning, a walk by Childress in the second inning, and a fielder’s choice by J Hill in the second inning.The Saluda Tigers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Strom Thurmond Rebels, giving up eight runs.Strom Thurmond Rebels got things started in the first inning when Jones’s sac fly scored one run for Strom Thurmond Rebels.A single by TJ Fallaw in the first inning was a positive for Saluda Tigers.M Feegan was on the pitcher’s mound for Strom Thurmond Rebels. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out four and walking zero.Fallaw led things off on the hill for Saluda Tigers. He surrendered five runs on four hits over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Gage Rinehart threw four and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.Matt Herlong, Josh Ouzts, Cade Gentry, Rinehart, and Fallaw each collected one hit to lead Saluda Tigers.Strom Thurmond Rebels totaled seven hits. KJ Butler and M Holmes each had multiple hits for Strom Thurmond Rebels.
  Saluda High School Varsity Baseball fell to Ninety Six High School 1-0 Tuesday, March 19.Both teams were strong on the hill on Tuesday, but Ninety Six Wildcats was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Saluda Tigers on Tuesday. TJ Fallaw started the game for Saluda Tigers and recorded 18 outs.One bright spot for Saluda Tigers was a single by Cade Gentry in the first inning.M Murphy toed the rubber for Ninety Six Wildcats. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 11 and walking zero.Fallaw started the game for Saluda Tigers. He went six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out two.Joe Ordile and Gentry each collected one hit to lead Saluda Tigers.A Gossett led Ninety Six Wildcats with two hits in three at bats.
  Saluda High School Varsity Baseball fell to Gray Collegiate 6-3 Thursday, March 21.Dominick McIntosh was on the pitcher’s mound for Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. He allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight.Gage Rinehart led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Saluda Tigers. He surrendered three runs on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out one. Matt Herlong threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.Cade Gentry led Saluda Tigers with two hits in three at bats.Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles racked up seven hits in the game. Turner Thackston and Brice Sox all managed multiple hits for Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Thackston made the most plays with 12.
  Saluda High School Varsity Baseball fell to Ninety Six High School 4-0 Friday, March 22.Saluda Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-0 loss to Ninety Six Wildcats on Friday. Ninety Six Wildcats took the lead on an error in the second inning. Ninety Six Wildcats opened up scoring in the second inning, when an error scored one run for Ninety Six Wildcats.One bright spot for Saluda Tigers was a double by TJ Fallaw in the first inning.T Bryan got the start for Ninety Six Wildcats. He lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.Noah Bell led things off on the hill for Saluda Tigers. He lasted six innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out 11. Cade Gentry threw one inning in relief.Gentry and Fallaw each managed one hit to lead Saluda Tigers.

  Saluda High School Boys Varsity Golf fell to Abbeville High School 209-219 Wednesday, March 6.JD Forrest was the match medalist shooting a 42 on the day.   
  Saluda High School Boys Varsity Golf fell to Fox Creek High School 174-230 Tuesday, March 19.The Tigers fell to the Predators of Fox Creek Tuesday. The Tigers were led by JD Forrest, who finished 2nd, with a score of 42.
  Saluda High School Boys Varsity Golf falls to Strom Thurmond High School 185-210 Monday, March 11.Saluda Golf falls to Strom Thurmond, 185-210. JD Forrest was medalist for 2nd time this year shooting a 39.  
 Saluda High School Boys Varsity Golf finishes 3rd place at Match Thursday, March 14......Saluda fell to Mid-Carolina and Woodruff Thursday. Woodruff shot a 157, while MC shot 165 and Saluda a 218. JD Forrest led the way for the Tigers shooting a 38.
